Softly in the darkness

Softly in the darkness
Comes the sound of singing
The contented hum grows ever louder
And my heart quickens in the darkness
Drawing closer the humming fills my ears
And I close my eyes and wait
Warm around my shoulders
The weight of his arm brings comfort
Gently filling my ears
The sound of his song speaks of love
It is my Father
My Father singing of his love for me
For me his beloved child
My Father hums in contentment
As his heart sings
Of his particular fondness for me
For me!
My Father loves me!
And my heart sings in return
Softly in the darkness
We sit and sing together
Of the love in our hearts
We sit and sing together
In warm contentment in the darkness
